Logan’s family vacations in Michigan every summer, and he wanted his senior pictures in the Upper Peninsula. We had the perfect early July evening for his senior photos at Esrey Park!
When planning Logan’s session, his mom told me, “We are looking for beautiful landscape pictures unique to the area – waterfalls, shoreline, etc. This will be our first year in the Keweenaw area so we will look to you for direction for best locations.” We discussed several options that would give us a good variety of backgrounds, ultimately selecting Esrey Park. While it’s a relatively small roadside park, Esrey has everything – a rocky coastline, tall cedar trees, and plenty of green grass, too!

Sports are a big part of Logan’s life – soccer, basketball, golf, football, and tennis. He’s the goalkeeper for his soccer team and brought his jersey and gloves along, so we made sure to get a few pictures featuring them!

Family Pictures at Esrey Park
We’re often asked to include a couple of pictures with the whole family during senior photos. Senior sessions are a great time to grab the yearly family photo! Logan got a break from being the center of attention for a few minutes, and the rest of the family knew they only had to be in a few frames. Of course, we get the posed picture everyone wants, but we love to get some fun laughing pictures, too. 🙂 We love seeing sibling relationships, and Logan and Carson sure cracked each other up!

Senior Pictures with Varsity Jacket
Varsity jackets are a great high school keepsake, and I’m so glad Logan brought his along for his senior photos at Esrey Park! It was getting a little chilly as the sun went down. Jackets are an easy way to update to have some variety in outfits without doing a complete clothing change, and also gives us some additional posing options.

After their session, I send seniors a follow-up questionnaire to get a little more information for their blog feature and find out what they thought of their senior session. Here’s what Logan had to say:
Can you tell me honestly how you felt during your session? How about after we finished?
“I expected it to be boring but ended up having fun as you made it easy for me and you were funny.”
😂😂 I feel like from a high school guy this is the highest compliment! Thank you, Logan!
In closing –
Logan and family – thank you for planning this destination senior experience as part of your vacation, and letting Rob and I be part of your high school memories. We had such a good evening together getting to know you all and sharing stories! We can’t wait to see what’s next for your future.
