We spent the perfect summer evening with Evan and Charlotte enjoying their engagement session! Although there was a little wildfire haze, we still had beautiful views of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and we ended the day with a perfectly pastel sky. 😍

Evan & Charlotte: Their Story
Charlotte & Evan met at Bowling Green State University. He was an RA, and she worked the front desk in the same resident hall. Charlotte remembers, “It was perfect, easy conversation.” Their first official date was a late-night trip to Big Boy for pancakes at 4 a.m. after a late night work shift. They’ve been together ever since – and they plan to get married in the fall on their 20th anniversary!

Engagement Pictures at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Evan and Charlotte live in the Lower Peninsula but were planning a trip up to do some wedding planning so we planned their engagement session for the same weekend! Their dogs, Meeko and Remy, wouldn’t be at the wedding, but since they’re a big part of their life it was important to include them today as well. Miners Beach is a fairly popular beach for its panoramic views and sandy beach, but thankfully on Sunday evening we had the beach mostly to ourselves.

Pictured Rocks Engagement Session
I really love taking the time to have a welcome call with each couple before sending over their booking paperwork. It gives us a chance to meet each other (Rob always jokes, “So you guys can see we’re not weirdos”) – and it means by the time we meet in person for the engagement session, we already feel like old friends! Rob kept saying, “Veronica, less talking, more photographing,” because Charlotte and I were gabbing away about all things wedding, life, and travel. They love exploring national parks, just like we do, and they’ve also traveled to a host of other countries, either for work or just for the sake of adventure.

Charlotte’s engagement ring is a stunning black diamond in a vintage-style white gold setting with additional black diamonds around the band.

Meeko and Remy were so well-behaved! We wanted to include the dogs in some posed pictures but also just let them roam naturally. The dogs I grew up with would never have stayed right by us like they did! 😅

Sunset at Miners Beach
There was a little bit of haze from the Canada wildfires hanging over the water, but thankfully not enough to interfere with the view. As the sun began to set, the sky was bathed in a spectacular blend of pastel colors. We saw a sunset cruise boat drive by, and it must have been the perfect evening to be on the boat!

We said they were having the battle of the branch manager and assistant to the branch manager here. 😉

In closing:
Evan & Charlotte, thank you for meeting up with us for your Pictured Rocks engagement session! Rob and I loved getting to know you both better ahead of your fall wedding here in Munising.
Ring: Zales
