Joe and Jade wed on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at LaRose Wellness Retreat in Baraga, Michigan. This stunning property overlooks Keweenaw Bay and was the perfect place to bring friends and family together to celebrate their marriage.
LaRose Wellness Retreat is a hidden gem in Baraga County. Tucked just off the main highway, the traffic noise fades away as you travel down the driveway toward the main house. Its expansive lawn and scenic views are the perfect backdrop for a wedding weekend with plenty of room for everyone to celebrate!

Getting Ready and First Look
LaRose Wellness Retreat is the perfect place to have a wedding weekend with six bedrooms, plenty of room for most wedding parties to stay all under one roof. The master bedroom, Kangas, has large windows lining the wall overlooking Keweenaw Bay to let in plenty of natural light. When we arrived the bridal party was all busy getting ready as I set up Jade’s dress and wedding details for photographs. Jade’s mom and sisters helped her finish dressing before we headed down for her first look with Joe.

Joe and Jade shared their first look at the path at the top of the hill. All the nerves melted away and Jade giggled as they saw each other for the first time in their wedding finery.

We always tell couples to take as much time as they want and to savor these moments together ahead of the ceremony.

First looks are the perfect way to get over the pre-ceremony jitters. A first look also allows us time for a few extra portraits, which comes in handy with a busy timeline!
Wedding Ceremony Overlooking Keweenaw Bay
After their first look, the wedding party lined up for the ceremony. Joe and Jade’s friend Amanda officiated their ceremony. We love when a close friend performs the ceremony because having someone who knows the couple well makes it much more meaningful!

Wedding Reception at LaRose Wellness Retreat
After the ceremony, guests milled about and snacked on hors d’oeuvres while we finished portraits and signed the marriage license. Then it was time for dinner – and out came the Ooni pizza oven and all the toppings for personal pizzas! Everyone chose their favorite toppings and got in line to bake their pizzas.

Jade and Joe shared their first dance to Stand by Me by Ben E. King. We loved hearing such a classic song for the first dance!

We also need to take a moment to appreciate this greenery wall + neon sign that Joe built himself!

In closing,
Joe and Jade, thank you for inviting us to capture your wedding day! We’re so glad you came north to the Keweenaw to celebrate your wedding and hope to see you again soon!
