Andrew’s family vacations in the Upper Peninsula every summer, and he wanted his senior pictures taken in the place he loved. After discussing the possibilities, we decided on Eagle River because of its diversity of locations within a short travel radius.
Eagle River MI Senior Pictures
We started Andrew’s session at Ten Foot Falls near Eagle River. The water level was perfect to get the running river in the background but still easily move around. Sometimes the rocks get really slippery if we’ve just had a big rain, but that wasn’t the case today!

We didn’t plan to stay at Ten Foot Falls long, but it gave us some great variety in our images and I loved what we captured during our time here.

Senior Portraits at Keweenaw County Courthouse
We spend most of Andrew’s senior portrait time around the Keweenaw County Courthouse in Eagle River. His family loves the historical buildings of the Upper Peninsula, and while originally they were hoping for a lighthouse, the courthouse was a great second choice. Andrew loves to dress with a Western edge, and the courthouse building complemented his style while being simple enough to let him stand out against the white facade.

Andrew plans to head to Wyoming after graduation to pursue a career in welding, so we made sure to include some pictures with his welding helmet and gloves. I love when seniors include things that are important to them in their senior pictures. It’s a common misconception that if you bring something, that means we’re going to spend a large part of the session making it a focus. That’s not always needed – sometimes all that’s needed are a couple of images for a graduation card or album.

A few last words –
Andrew and family – thank you for spending such a fun evening with us in Eagle River! We loved exploring the area with you and loved creating such fun and unique images to help you remember your senior year! Wishing you a smooth and quick final year before you head west to continue your education!
