Frequently Asked Questions

01. What is your shooting style ?

We believe looking back at your images should transport you back to that snapshot in time, so you can relive the day just like it happened. That’s why our shooting style leans towards timeless, not trendy. We don’t jump in to pose you every second of the day, but we’re there to help you whenever you need it, so you can be the best version of yourself.

02. When should I schedule my portrait session ?

Permitting we have the date available, you can schedule your photo session any time you want to, even if it’s a year in advance! All we require is a paid retainer and signed contract to reserve your date.

While we’re happy to work you in on short notice if we have availability, we encourage you to schedule your session at least two weeks out (and farther out in the fall!) to allow you enough time to plan and feel prepared for our time together.

03. What is your travel radius for portraits ?

We mainly work in Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon, and Baraga Counties.

While we love working anywhere in the Upper Peninsula, there may be an additional charge for sessions scheduled outside of these four counties.

04. Do you have insurance ?

Definitely, yes! We’re registered members of the Professional Photographers of America and have business and liability insurance through our membership.

05. How much wedding coverage do we need ?

We find most couples require 3-4 hours for intimate elopements of ten people or less, and at least 6 hours for weddings with any travel between locations. Couples who plan weddings with over 150 guests generally book at least 8 hours of photography to ensure there’s plenty of reception coverage.

03. Do you travel to other cities and countries for weddings ?

We love to travel, especially road trips – and it’s a personal bonus if we can incorporate visiting a National Park into the trip! 😉 So far we’ve photographed in 2 countries and 4 states, and we’re always game to add more to that list. Let’s talk about the logistics and see what we can come up with!
